The first in a series of Silicon & Steel conversations, recorded at Reuters Events Supply Chain USA in Chicago

Welcome to the first in a new series of Silicon & Steel conversations, where I sit down with the people building the physical backbone of the modern economy: the freight, the factories, and the networks that move everything else. It felt right to start on the road, with trucks.

My First guest in the series is Ajesh Kapoor, founder and CEO of SemiCab. An IIT Roorkee engineer who went on to graduate study in operations research at Georgia Tech, he has worked in freight and logistics technology since the mid-1990s, including years building collaborative logistics platforms as a product leader at GT Nexus. SemiCab is his latest venture, and not his first: he founded a last-mile delivery company back in 2000 and sold it to RedPrairie in 2007 (Now part of Blue Yonder).
